Exhibition in Amsterdam

26 01 2013

Last week I was invited by EpiGeneSys artist in residence, Dr. Paul Harrison,  to present work from my Masters project at a conference at the Netherlands Cancer Institute in Amsterdam.  This was for the EpiGeneSys Consortium annual meeting.

We also exhibited some of the work produced, including digital prints, screen prints and animations for all the delegates to see.

The work was well received and hopefully this will be an ongoing collaboration for Vivomotion over the next few years.  Prof. Stephan Beck, Professor of Medical Genomics at University College London Cancer Institute, will show the Epigenetic Landscape animation at an upcoming Gordon Conference, and Dr. Leonie Ringrose from the Institute of Molecular Biotechnology in Vienna would like to form a collaboration to make an animation to illustrate her research interests in Epigenetic regulation by the Polycomb and Trithorax group proteins.  I have also been invited by EpiGeneSys, to the Institut Curie in Paris, to give a talk about my career path.  All in all a very successful conference!

A New Year Begins…..

7 01 2013

Well here it is……. the first day back in the office, after 2 weeks of relaxing with friends and family.  Glad to be back in and raring to go for 2013!  After looking through pictures from last year I thought I would add some nice colourful images to this post to brighten up this dreich January day.  These were taken when I attended NESTAs Digital advisory day, where digital companies were partnered up with Arts and Cultural organisations to help them use technology and to apply for the NESTA digital R&D fund.  It was an interesting day for networking and a very nice venue at the Dovecot studios in Edinburgh.  Hope you enjoy these nice pictures!
